Mechanic

As a Mechanic at Bici, you’ll be trusted to deliver the highest quality builds and repairs on every bike that passes through the shop. From mountain to gravel to road, your focus will be on doing things right the first time—backed by great communication with both customers and teammates. If you’ve got the experience, a strong eye for detail, and pride in your craft, this role is for you.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Perform repairs and builds across a range of bikes: mountain, road, and gravel
  • Conduct detailed inspections and write up accurate, informative work orders
  • Communicate clearly with customers and teammates about service needs and outcomes
  • Ensure every new bike is built and inspected to Bici and brand standards
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace
  • Support and mentor junior mechanics through daily work and training
  • Raise quality and warranty concerns to the appropriate team

Strategic Outcomes:

  • Bikes are built and repaired to the highest standards and delivered on time
  • Notes and service records are accurate, clear, and complete
  • Workstations are clean, safe, and well-maintained
  • Junior mechanics are supported in growing their skills
  • The service department consistently earns trust and repeat business

Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year of mechanical experience in a bike shop
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • A customer-first mindset with a positive, helpful attitude
  • Experience with service software (e.g. Lightspeed) is an asset
  • Passion for bikes and the cycling community

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry bicycles, parts, and equipment as needed.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining focus on service quality.

Position Title: Mechanic
Location: 1497 Adanac Street, Vancouver, BC
Position Types: Permanent Full-Time (37.5 hours/week, some weekend availability)
Reports To: Service Manager
Compensation: $22–$25 per hour + meaningful variable comp structure
