The S-Works Ares 2 is a road racing shoe built on Specialized's all-new Body Geometry last, which reduces forefoot pressure by 44% over the previous design. This wide fit version accommodates riders who need additional volume across the forefoot without compromising retention. The BOA Dual-Dial Li2 fit system provides independent tension adjustment across the upper, and Specialized reports a 7-watt power increase over the prior platform.
The unidirectional carbon outsole delivers stiff, efficient power transfer suited to road racing. Compatible with Body Geometry SL Footbeds Gen 2, the shoe accepts aftermarket footbed customization for additional arch and metatarsal support. The wide fit last provides more room through the toe box for riders who require a broader fit, while keeping overall weight at 263g per half-pair at size 44.
