The Shimano Ultegra CS-R8000 is an 11-speed cassette built for consistent, precise shifting across road riding and racing. Its cogs are nickel-plated steel for corrosion resistance and long wear, while precisely machined shifting ramps support accurate gear changes under load.
The larger cogs are riveted to anodized aluminum spiders that add stiffness for cleaner shifting, while the smaller cogs sit individually with spacers between them. An anodized aluminum lockring secures the full assembly to the freehub, and an asymmetric spline design keeps the shifting ramps correctly aligned during installation.
