The Santa Cruz Dropout Kit Type 4 Short replaces a damaged or worn derailleur hanger assembly on the V10.7 and V10.8 downhill frames. Riders running a Megatower V1 or Tallboy V4 Carbon from 2019 onward will find the same short dropout fits their frame too, keeping the rear axle aligned and the derailleur hanger properly seated.
Each kit includes the Type 4 short thru axle, a replacement DO bolt sized 142x12, a non-driveside chip measuring 10x14.75, and a small set screw for secure fitment. Together these parts restore proper axle engagement and hanger alignment, letting the rear derailleur shift smoothly without extra play at the dropout.
