The RockShox Monarch R Rear Shock features a lightweight design that provides smooth travel across varied terrain. A redesigned Solo Air spring system allows users to fill positive and negative chambers through a single valve. This creates a predictable spring rate often associated with heavier coil shocks while maintaining a lower overall weight for cross country riding and aggressive trails.

Damping controls include external rebound adjustment to customize the response of the shock. The Rapid Recovery system helps the component track the ground with precision by recovering quickly between consecutive bumps. The assembly consists of a fast black hard anodized forged aluminum body with visible sag gradients and a 7075 aluminum shaft for durable performance.
