The Chromag BA30 V2 is a 29-inch front mountain wheel built for riders who hit rough terrain hard and want their gear to keep up. A reinforced aluminum rim resists flat spots and dents, while the new Chromag R6 hub delivers fast 96-point engagement and smooth, low-friction rolling. It is laced 32-hole and comes with the tape and valve already installed, so it is ready for tubeless tires out of the box.

Features

Impact-resistant rim: A refined beadwall and sidewall give this rim noticeably more resistance to dents and flat spots than the original BA30.
Deep rim profile: The deeper rim section helps the wheel shrug off hard hits and harsh landings without denting.
Wide central channel: A wider channel inside the rim bed makes mounting and removing tires easier, even on the trail.
Chromag R6 hub: A larger ratchet ring and six pawls working in two sets of three give the rear-driving engagement 96 points of contact for a quick response underfoot.
Fusion-welded seam: The rim joint is fusion welded and ground smooth, making it the strongest point on the rim and fully airtight for tubeless setups.
Swappable end caps: The hub ships with 15mm Non-Torque end caps, and 20mm DH or 15mm Torque caps can be added later so the wheel can move between bikes.

R6 hub up close

The silver R6 hub shows off its anodised 6061 aluminum shell and tidy 32-spoke lacing. Its larger ratchet ring and six-pawl engagement system are built to keep climbing and pedalling response sharp over time.

Reinforced bead profile

Looking at the rim bead near the hub highlights the thicker beadwall and deeper rim section Chromag added for the V2. It is the part of the rim doing the work to resist pinch flats and dents on rough trails.
