The Chris King Inset 7 headset brings a semi-integrated ZS44/EC44 configuration to frames with a 44mm straight headtube, pairing a 44mm upper internal cup with a 44mm lower external cup and 1.5-inch baseplate. It accommodates 1-1/8 inch to 1.5 inch tapered steerer tubes, with a 40mm crown race diameter and a 28.6mm threadless stem clamp.
Sealed cartridge bearings, built in-house, pair with Chris King's patented GripLock retention system, which separates bearing adjustment from steerer tube location for consistent handling. The headset is user-serviceable without special tools; aluminum and stainless steel construction supports long-term durability. Lower stack height measures 14mm, upper stack height 8.2mm, and claimed weight is 160 grams.
