Position Title: Mechanic
Location: 1497 Adanac Street, Vancouver, BC
Position Types: Permanent Full-Time (37.5 hours/week, some weekend availability)
Reports To: Service Manager
Compensation: $22–$25 per hour

The Mechanic is a trusted member of the Bici service team, responsible for delivering high-quality bike builds, repairs, and maintenance across mountain, gravel, and road. This role focuses on doing things right the first time—combining technical skill, attention to detail, and clear communication with both customers and teammates.

Mechanics play an important role in ensuring bikes are safe, reliable, and ready to ride, while contributing to a clean, organized workshop and supporting the growth of junior mechanics.

Key Accountabilities:

Bike Service & Technical Work

  • Perform repairs, maintenance, and builds across mountain, road, and gravel bikes
  • Conduct detailed inspections to accurately identify service and repair needs
  • Build and inspect new bikes to Bici and brand standards prior to delivery
  • Raise quality, safety, or warranty concerns to the appropriate team

Customer & Team Communication

  • Write clear, accurate, and informative work orders
  • Communicate service needs, timelines, and outcomes clearly with
  • Collaborate closely with teammates to ensure service expectations are aligned

Team Support & Development

  • Support and mentor junior mechanics through daily work and training
  • Share knowledge and best practices to help maintain service quality across the team

Operations & Shop Standards

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace
  • Ensure tools, workstations, and service areas are properly maintained
  • Follow all Bici policies, procedures, and service workflows

Expectations & Outcomes:

  • Bikes are built, repaired, and serviced to the highest standards and delivered on time
  • Service notes and records are accurate, clear, and complete
  • Workstations remain clean, safe, and well-organized
  • Junior mechanics are supported in developing their skills
  • The service department consistently earns customer trust and repeat business

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry bicycles, parts, and equipment as needed.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining focus on service quality.

Scope of Role:

This role requires strong technical ability, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced service environment. The Mechanic collaborates closely with the service and retail teams to deliver a consistent, high-quality customer experience while upholding Bici’s standards for quality, safety, and professionalism.
