"For riders who won't wait for sunrise, Exposure brings serious light with the smarts to match. Select models even auto-dim when they spot oncoming headlights, so you can ride hard in the dark without blinding traffic."

Exposure Lights

Hand-built in the South Downs of West Sussex since 2005, Exposure Lights makes self-contained, serviceable bike lights with honest, measured lumen outputs and beams tuned for real roads and trails.

All-in-One, Cable-Free Design

Exposure has built its batteries into the light body from day one, so there's no separate battery pack to strap to your frame and no cables trailing across your bars or helmet.

Smart Lighting Tech

Reflex 2.0 boosts or dims output based on how hard you're riding, AKTiv dips the road beam when it spots oncoming cars, and ReAKT rear lights flare when you brake, just like a car's brake light.

Built in Britain, Built to Last

Every light is CNC-machined from hard-anodised aluminium and assembled in West Sussex, with honest measured lumen figures and lifetime serviceability instead of a throwaway design.

Who is Exposure Lights

Exposure Lights is the lighting brand of Ultimate Sports Engineering (USE), a British engineering company founded in Sussex in 1990. USE made its name with the world's first suspension seatpost and went on to build components that helped riders to Olympic gold and a Tour de France King of the Mountains title. In 2003 the team started developing lights for 24-hour mountain bike racing, and as early adopters of LED technology, that project launched as Exposure Lights in 2005.

Two decades on, every Exposure light is still designed and assembled at the company's workshop in Bury, in the heart of the South Downs National Park. The range now covers mountain bike, road, gravel, urban and helmet lights, plus expedition headtorches, and Exposure has become a familiar sight at ultra-distance events like Unbound and The Traka, where riding through the night is part of the race.

Why do we sell Exposure Lights

We sell Exposure because these lights are built for the riding we actually do around here: dark winter commutes, rainy night laps on the Shore, and gravel rides that run long past sunset. A rugged, self-contained light with honest lumen numbers and a beam tuned for the terrain makes a real difference when it's pouring and pitch black.

And because Exposure lights are designed to be serviced rather than replaced, they're an investment that lasts well beyond a single season.

FAQ

What does "measured lumens" mean?

Many brands quote the theoretical output of the LED on its own. Exposure measures the light that actually leaves the lamp, so the number on the box is what you'll really get on the road or trail.

What warranty comes with Exposure lights?

Exposure bike lights come with a two-year warranty, and the LEDs themselves are covered for life. Beyond that, Exposure offers lifetime serviceability, so batteries and parts can be replaced instead of throwing out the whole light.

Which Exposure light is right for me?

It comes down to where and how you ride. Off-road lights like the Toro, paired with a helmet light like the Joystick, put out a wide, powerful beam for trails. Road-focused models add features like AKTiv auto-dipping so you don't dazzle drivers, and compact lights like the Boost front and Boost-R rear set cover most commutes. Not sure? Drop by or ask our team and we'll help you pick.
