Shimano's new SPD-SL R cleats are purpose-built for the SPD-SL R pedal system (PD-R9300 and PD-R8200) and are not compatible with previous-generation SPD-SL pedals. Four float options let riders match the cleat to their pedalling style.
Paired with the redesigned SPD-SL R pedal, these cleats contribute to the lowest cleat-and-pedal stack height in Shimano's road lineup, with a wider catch and narrower engagement angle for an easier, more secure step-in.
