Why the Zwift Ride V2 is all about fit
The Zwift Ride V2 isn't faster than the original, and it doesn't measure power any differently. What Zwift did was go back and fix every fit complaint the first version collected.
The V1 shipped with one crank length, 170 mm, and a minimum rider height of 152 cm. If your legs or your height fell outside what the frame assumed, you were stuck. The V2 fixes that.
It's a complete smart bike for Zwift: a frame with controllers built into the bars, paired with a Wahoo KICKR CORE 2 trainer that has the Zwift Cog already installed. It's ready to ride in minutes.
Vancouver's wet season is long, and the riders who stay on the trainer through it are the ones whose setup is comfortable enough to use every week. Fit is what makes that happen.
How the Zwift Ride V2 pre-order works
Zwift units are arriving in batches, and the first batch is the one that gets you riding for winter. Here's exactly how our pre-order works.
Pre-order details:
- Price: $2,124.99 CAD, KICKR CORE 2 included
- Payment: Pay in full at checkout
- First batch: Expected at Bici the week of October 12, shipped as soon as possible after it arrives
- Later batches: The rest of the units arrive in batches after the first
- Shipping: Pick yours up at Vancouver or Victoria, where stock will be very limited, or we'll ship anywhere in Canada for $195.
- Refunds: Full refund any time. Cancelling means giving up your spot in line
If you want one for the winter months, get in the first batch. Supply is limited, and your spot in line is what secures a unit.
What changed from the V1
A lot stays the same. The changes are all in the places that decide whether the bike fits you.
Here's what most people miss: for a shorter rider, saddle height usually isn't what stops a smart bike from fitting. Reach is. Zwift made the main triangle slightly smaller, with every section reduced in length, which lowers standover, minimum bar height and minimum reach in one move.
Expanded fore-aft saddle adjustment
A new seatpost topper with four positions adds 30 mm of fore-aft range.
- One bolt: Adjust it with the Ride's built-in tool.
- Shared households: The topper is a removable connector, so a second rider can swap in their own saddle quickly.
- Still adjustable: Fore-aft and tilt adjustment within the saddle rails stays as it was.
Bear claw cranks, now standard
Five lengths: 160, 165, 170, 172.5 and 175 mm.
- Why it matters: 170 mm suits most riders but gets uncomfortable below a certain size, and the V1 had no other option.
- The V1 catch: Its cranks were non-standard, so aftermarket ones wouldn't fit.
- Proven parts: These are the same Bear Claw cranks Zwift has sold as a V1 upgrade since April 2025. Now they come with the bike.
Better fit for more riders
Minimum rider height is now 4'10" (146 cm), down from 152 cm. Minimum saddle height is around 57 cm, down from 60 cm. The frame still fits riders up to 6'6" (198 cm).
- Lower bars: They drop almost 4 cm lower than the V1's.
- Labelled settings: Seatpost heights, stem lengths and bar heights are marked with symbols, so you can note your fit and return to it, or carry a V1 fit over.
- Who this opens up: For riders under about 5'2", mostly smaller women, this is the difference between a bike that works and one that never did.
Extra comfort with wider bar tops
Oversized tops replace the V1's uniformly narrow bars.
- Bigger hands: This was a common complaint about the original.
- Sealed controllers: The controllers have extra internal sealing against moisture, which matters when you're sweating on them for an hour.

The KICKR CORE 2 underneath it
The frame is the part you sit on. The KICKR CORE 2 is what makes it ride like something.
Don't let the CORE name fool you into thinking it's a stripped-down trainer. It picked up features that used to belong to Wahoo's pricier models.
- Power: Up to 1,800 W, with accuracy of plus or minus 2%.
- Grade: Simulates climbs up to 16%.
- Connectivity: WiFi, Bluetooth and ANT+, with WiFi handling automatic updates.
- Race Mode: Power data updates up to 10 times faster than the previous generation.
- Drive: A belt drive for a smooth pedal feel.
The Zwift Cog is already on it, and the Ride's controllers handle shifting virtually. That means no cassette to match and no derailleur to adjust. Set it up, pair it, and ride.
Round out the setup before winter
The bike is the easy part. The setup around it decides whether you use it twice or all winter.
- Airflow: A fan matters more than you'd expect. You'll overheat faster indoors than you ever do on the road.
- A screen you can see: A desk or tablet holder keeps Zwift at eye level instead of on the floor.
- A floor mat: It catches sweat and takes the edge off vibration.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will it fit me?
The V2 fits riders from 146 to 198 cm (4'10" to 6'6") up to 120 kg. Height is only a starting point, since leg and torso length matter just as much. If you're near either end of the range, come in and we'll check it with you.
When will I get it?
The first batch is expected the week of October 12 and ships as soon as possible after it arrives. The rest of the units come in later batches, so the first batch is the one to be in for winter. It won't be here for Tour of Watopia on October 5, so if you need to be riding sooner, we have trainers in stock now.
Can I get a refund?
Yes, you can always be fully refunded. It just means giving up your spot in line.
I own a V1. Should I upgrade?
Probably not. The adjustable cranks and the updated seatpost cover most of what changed, and Zwift sells them separately. The one thing they can't fix is reach, since that comes from the smaller frame. If reach is what's holding you back, the V2 is worth a look.
What crank length should I choose?
